I grew up outside of Philadelphia, PA. After receiving a BS in Psychology and Early Childhood and Elementary Education, I decided I needed to spread my wings a little further than Pennsylvania. I joined the Peace Corps and was off to Africa, Eswatini to be exact (once known as Swaziland). I worked with a USAID project team training teachers. Ever since, I have always looked for the unique school experience where I could enjoy a multilingual/multicultural experience. I taught at a Navajo school on the reservation in New Mexico. I taught in urban and suburban schools. In 2007, I started teaching at Country Day School and loved it, but when economic change happened on the island in 2013, I took the opportunity to go back to Pennsylvania and build my teaching skills. I enrolled in a Masters program at Drexel University for teaching children with special needs. I worked in Philadelphia schools until around 2019 when I decided to follow my heart back to St. Croix. I feel I have grown so much as a teacher, and if I ever get a compliment, I have to reflect and give credit to all the families and schools that shaped me.
